FREE HALF-DAY KINDERGARTEN
8:00 AM – 11:15 AM
Our half-day program provides a robust academic foundation in reading, writing, and math, covering all Arizona academic state standards during the morning session. It’s ideal for families seeking a traditional schedule with a strong focus on academics.
FREE FULL-DAY KINDERGARTEN
8:00 AM – 3:15 PM
Our full-day kindergarten option includes everything offered in the half-day program plus an enriched curriculum.
Students explore science, history, social studies, and more, with engaging topics such as U.S. presidents, geography, the 50 states, animal habitats, and Native American history. The extended day allows for deeper learning, presentation skills development, and enhanced social growth.
Adams Traditional Academy does not offer a drop-in option.
KINDERGARTEN CURRICULUM
At Adams Traditional Academy, our kindergarten program builds a strong academic foundation through structured, traditional instruction in core subjects. Students learn to read and write using the Spalding Language Arts Program, develop problem-solving skills through Singapore Math, and explore the world through science, history, and geography lessons aligned with national standards.
Hands-on learning in music, art, and science encourages creativity and curiosity, while spelling and handwriting strengthen literacy and critical thinking. Our proven curriculum nurtures confident, capable learners ready for long-term academic success.
SINGAPORE MATH
At Adams Traditional Academy, math is taught through a structured, teacher-led approach that emphasizes both facts and concept application. We use Singapore Math, enriched with foundational practice and designed to build deep mathematical understanding through step-by-step instruction.
This proven program raises student achievement by focusing on mastery, logical thinking, and the intentional sequencing of skills. Students are taught to approach math with confidence, using previously learned knowledge to solve new problems.
READING & WRITING
At Adams Traditional Academy, students develop strong writing skills through a curriculum that includes both manuscript and cursive handwriting.
Learning proper handwriting builds fine motor skills, focus, and clear written communication, while structured writing instruction strengthens grammar, vocabulary, and critical thinking.
Together, these skills enhance memory, improve reading and spelling, and prepare students for success in school and beyond.
LANGUAGE ARTS
Adams Traditional Academy uses the Spalding Language Arts Program, a phonics-based method that builds strong reading and comprehension skills.
By learning sounds and phonograms, students develop decoding skills and fluency, giving them the tools to read independently and critically. Beginning with decoding and progressing through classical literature analysis, our reading program emphasizes comprehension, vocabulary, and higher-level thinking from kindergarten through eighth grade.
SPELLING
Spelling is taught as a foundational literacy skill. Our phonics-based instruction helps students understand the structure of words, improving both reading and writing proficiency. Strong spelling reinforces comprehension, written expression, and confidence across all subjects.
HISTORY & GEOGRAPHY
Beginning in kindergarten, students explore world and U.S. history alongside geography, using age-appropriate, content-rich materials. Our curriculum connects historical events to civic responsibility and introduces government, economics, and personal finance in alignment with national standards.
SCIENCE
Science is hands-on from day one. Students explore life, earth, and physical sciences through lab activities that encourage curiosity, experimentation, and real-world application. Our lab-based science rotations enhance engagement and deepen understanding of scientific principles.
MUSIC & ART
