Food Services Cook/Kitchen Supervisor
Adams Traditional Academy is looking to immediately fill the Food Services Cook/Kitchen Supervisor. This position is categorized as a full-time 10 month/school year job. Applicant must possess or be able to obtain a D.P.S. IVP fingerprint clearance card, as well as possess a G.E.D. or a high school diploma.
The perfect candidate for this position is skilled, organized, and able to multi-task. This applicant enjoys working with both students and staff. As the Cook and kitchen supervisor the applicant is responsible for the supervision of a small support staff. This position is responsible for creating the monthly menus, ordering and inventory of all food and food products related to the kitchen. Responsible for proper recording of all food production reports. Works closely with the Food Service Coordinator in all operations of the food service department. Preps and prepares all meals including lunch and preschool snacks. Meals are prepared based on NSLP (National School Lunch Program) standards. Experience with Microsoft Office and Word ware software system is a plus.
Ideal candidate is patient, reliable and a quick learner. All Food Service Workers must possess a food handlers’ certificate in addition to the IVP fingerprint clearance card. A basic understanding of NSLP food portions and standards is also helpful. Other job-related duties as requested such as assisting in stocking food products as they are delivered, maintaining supplies, equipment washing, kitchen utensils, floors and other service areas.
A Culinary Arts degree and previous experience in a school food service setting are a plus. An Application for Employment is available online for download.
