ATA Reading List
Book Report List
The purpose of having a Recommended Reading List is to ensure that, before a student graduates from Adams, the student has read 38 quality literature books and completed reports on them. A student may pick any book from the Recommended Reading List for his or her book report as long as:
1) the book is at or above the student’s current grade level
2) is not an adapted version of the story (i.e., it should not say “Adapted by…” on the title page).

In addition to the book report requirements, students are required to read additional books/pages in the following quantities. These do not need to be on the recommended reading list.
Kindergarten - one book per week
First grade - twenty (20) books per quarter
Second grade - 1600 pages per year
Third grade - 2000 pages per year
Fourth grade - 2400 pages per year
Fifth grade - 3000 pages per year
Sixth, Seventh, Eighth grades - 3200 pages per year
