The World Combat Academy, Institute of Health and Fitness provides a reinforcement of four basic living skills: discipline, honor and integrity, respect of self and others, and self confidence. The benefits gained through martial arts can be incredible. Children in our martial arts program are trained to share, learn, teach and most importantly, to value hard work. It is the goal of every WCA instructor to provide a positive, supportive atmosphere where children have fun developing new skills, while developing their character.
Emphasis is placed on the individual’s achievements and in developing themselves to the best of their abilities. Students are instructed in proven and effective self defense techniques, but classes also cover subjects such as anger management techniques, conflict resolution and stress management which serves to reinforce character-building lessons.
Classes are offered twice a week for K – 8th grade students for a tuition fee of $50 per month. Additional expenses you can expect include:
- Gi (black martial arts uniform) — $20
- WCA Fighting Eagle T-shirt — $12 (can be worn to school on Friday Spirit Days)
- Sparring Gear — $45 (includes protective gear for the hands, feet and head)
- Embroidered Gear Bag (optional) — $40 (includes the WCA logo and the child’s last name and first initial)
We do not charge for testing students for promotion, however, our school usually participates in the last Arizona Karate Association open tournament at the end of the school year which costs $30-$40.
